Athena Matheou MA, UKCP, MBACP – Integrative Psychotherapist and Counsellor
Athena has a Master of Arts degree in Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling awarded with distinction. She is registered with both the UKCP United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy) and the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy). Being registered with these organisation organisations means that she works within Ethical Principles and adheres to Professional Occupational standards.
Athena has been working as an integrative psychotherapist since 2004 and is experienced in short and long-term work. She has worked in the NHS, voluntary sector and private practice and has experience of working with many different problems and issues, and people with a wide age range and from diverse backgrounds.
Athena comes from a creative background, having been a professional musician, workshop leader and teacher prior to training as a therapist. This experience leads her to be a particularly creative therapist who is interested in hearing what you are looking for and working out with you how it feels right to proceed. This could be an arrangement of anything from just a few sessions to an open-ended time frame.
